Crayons to Classrooms received a grant for $15,000 from the AES Ohio Foundation. Previously, C2C was awarded grants by DP&L which became AES Ohio in 2021. This continued support from AES is a testament to their commitment to the community. In fact, the AES Ohio Foundation is the largest corporate foundation in the Miami Valley that distributes 100% of its funds locally.
This generous grant will be used to enhance and expand C2C’s main program to provide free school supplies to teachers in AES service areas. This will benefit teachers and students at 81 schools in Montgomery County, 10 schools in Greene County, 6 schools in Preble County, and 2 schools C2C began serving in 2023 in Miami County.
These additional funds are needed to support the added capacity of C2C’s new offsite warehouse space (acquired in June of 2023) to keep up with growing needs in schools across the Miami Valley. The AES funds will enable C2C to enhance distributions and expand the variety of supplies offered to support the new requests received from local teachers. Health and hygiene, STEM, and social-emotional learning tools are all resources that teachers need more of to provide for their students’ needs. The additional products C2C plans to add include both products sourced from their many partners and Classrooms Solutions materials handcrafted by dedicated volunteers.
Community support is crucial to be able to keep the Teacher Resource Center stocked full of needed supplies. Thousands of teachers and students served by C2C will benefit from this generous contribution from the AES Ohio Foundation.
