Crayons to Classrooms Receives Honda Grant to Support Education and the Environment

April 11, 2025

Crayons to Classrooms’ (C2C) has received a $25,000 grant from Honda toward the organization’s environmental initiative, Reduce and Reuse for Education. This grant funding helps C2C redirect valuable supplies to teachers and students—items that might otherwise end up in a landfill—including gently used materials and overstock from local retailers, businesses, and retired teachers.

Honda’s support has helped C2C reduce waste while supporting under-resourced schools. The initiative prevents school supplies, books, classroom decorations, and other materials from being discarded, giving them a second life in the classroom. Over 4,000 teachers in 143 under-resourced schools and childcare centers have benefitted from this support.

With Honda’s funding, C2C has built stronger relationships with current retail partners and received product donations from local businesses’ office closures. Honda’s generous contribution has made a meaningful impact by supporting both the environment and education in Ohio’s Miami Valley. Local Honda team members have also donated their time as Classroom Solutions volunteers.

Honda supports society in the areas of education, the environment, mobility, traffic safety, and community.
