Volunteer To Shop

Earn Supplies For Your Favorite Teacher

In order to expand our program to teachers who work in schools that do not currently qualify for our services, a volunteer program has been developed so an individual can earn a shopping visit to Crayons to Classrooms for a teacher of their choice.

How To Earn A Shopping Trip

  • Individuals must volunteer for 5 hours to earn a single shopping visit.
  • Individuals can earn two shopping visits per year for a teacher of their choice.
  • The number of teachers an individual chooses to volunteer for is not limited.

Teachers that benefit must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a certified teacher
  • Must work in a school in Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, or Warren county
  • Preschool, daycare, and childcare programs do not qualify for shopping
  • A shopping visit can be redeemed only by the benefiting teacher by making arrangements with Crayons to Classrooms staff

Ready To Lend A Hand? We’re Ready To Speak With You!

"Crayons to Classrooms highlights a need for schools that serve low income students. They stock a wide variety of school supplies that teachers can then come and 'shop' for free. Many people have heard that teachers spend their own money to provide things that their students need. This nonprofit has opened the eyes of the citizens of Dayton, OH, and allowed the community to take this burden off teachers' shoulders. The office and store are well-run and the staff excellent. A model organization."
