The Berry Family Foundation Grants $15,000 to Support Educational Equity

March 17, 2025

The Berry Family Foundation provided Crayons to Classrooms (C2C) with a generous $15,000 grant to support the Teacher Resource Center during the current 2024-25 school year. The Foundation has supported C2C since it’s beginning in 2008, before the first teacher stepped foot into the resource center. In the last 17 years, the Foundation has gifted over $100,000 to support local teachers of students at under-resourced schools.

In a recent survey, 97% of local teachers reported free school supplies from C2C are important for their ability to focus on other areas of student need. Support from the Foundation helps C2C provide teachers with the freedom to focus on teaching and their students with the opportunity to focus on learning.

As inflation increases, more students face economic challenges, and more schools qualify for C2C’s services. C2C actively contacts schools to encourage registration and are currently supporting 143 schools in the 2024-2025 school year. Additional funding helps secure and distribute school supplies to these participating schools.

The Berry Family Foundation believes in “supporting youth programs and education that encourage responsibility, honesty, self-confidence, teamwork and achievement.” The Foundation partners with C2C to ensure educational equity for low-income students by funding countless teacher shopping trips at the Teacher Resource Center.
